Skittles Experiment

Today we made another experiment the skittles. This one was quite hard to get photos so I only have 1. It goes quick because the water is disolving the colours from the skittles.

Come with me and lets see how this works.

Aim: To use chromatography to get the col,our out of the skittles.

The materials you will need are...
  1. Petrie dish
  2. Skittles
  3. Water

The steps
  1.  Get 1 petrie dish
  2. Get at least 5 or 6 skittles
  3. Evenly spread the skittles out so they arent together.
  4. Add water
  5. Get ready to take photos. But be quick to take photos.

Conclusion: Chromatography - you can use water which takes the colour out of the skittles.

I only got one photo as this was the only good photo out of 3. By the way after the experiment has finished, yes it safe to eat the skittles and water. Remember you could do this on a plate to.

Have fun!!
