For the last term we have been learning about tattoo's. Tattoos have to be small, simple and somewhere you can put it. When you think about your tattoo you have to think about what it is. For an Example -  If you like fortnite, in about 20 yrs time you might not like fortnite and you liek something else. Once that is on you, you'll look like a fool. Tattoo's will be on you till you pass away of die. We had to look at different sites and differnent desgins. We had desgined a tattoo and inprivised the desgin. The most challenging part of this whole prosess is to create the desgn, keep it simple and make sure it fits from where you want it. The easy part was to write the description of why I chose that tattoo. Here is my design of the tattoo...

This is the description...

I Choose The Harmony sign for our voices. My family has great voices and its sounds so great when we sing together.

The energy Is for energetic. My Family has each been in a race. Because we run everyday.

I choose this one because It is simple and very easy. I'm going to have it on my wrist because its small and if you imagine it small you can still put it where you what to.

Hangi

On Friday we had a hangi. We have been learning about hangis and Matariki. Matarkiki is the Maori New Year.
Hangis can be made wusing either railway irons or hangi stones. The most challenging part for me was when we had to peel the veges. When we were peeling, I was in the carrot peeling group. After we had all finished the carrots we moved on to help the group of people that were peeling the potatoes. We got it all finished in time. We got it done before the time we had to get ready. The most easy part, was the peeling carrots, because carrots are long and the potatoes are round. We had to bring our own peelers.  Here are some photos of the Hangi being prepared, ready, and getting cooked:

Mars Habitat

In Reading last term, my reading group and I were learing about " Becomeing a martion". I learnt that a martion is were you live on mars. Our activity was to make a mars Habitat. This is how my one turned out.

Measurement

For our strand Maths we have been looking at measurement.

We have learnt that 1 metre equals 100 cm and that there are 1000 metres in a kilometre.

We have also learnt how to measure objects around our school.

The most challenging thing about measuring is to use the correct equipment.

The activity I enjoyed most was the Measurement because we get to measure something that we could reach outside.

My group measured the width of the cubby holes and it was 3 metres and 51 centimetres wide. This measurement can also be written as 3m and 51cm.

My Celebration

For the last 2 weeks we have been learning about celebrations in different cultures. I wrote about my birthday. I wrote it as a recount. The hardest thing was to put the paragraphs in order.

My Birthday at Home

“Happy Birthday Sweetheart “ Says my mum as I wake up extremely tired.

In our house we Celebrate mine and Haylee's birthday. We like to open our presents in the morning. Most of the time we have to have our birthdays at home because Mum can’t afford to go out anywhere.

Our birthday is at home. Sometimes our birthday is on a school day that makes it more fantastically amazing. When my birthday is a school day I go to my friends, and say “It’s my Birthday today” Usually I shout it out loud so that some people know its my birthday.

Mine and Haylee’s birthday is on the 9 of April. Nothing that I know of is on the same day. The only thing that I know is that I share a birthday with a older sister which doesn't like to share. When I saw the presents she got I ask to share she shouts “ No “.

We celebrate our birthday because it’s a celebration. Haylee and I like celebrating this one day because the day before our birthday we spend the whole day playing with each other. I will always remember this day, Now and Forever.

I like to spend with my sister because she usually plays with Caleb and not me. So that is why I like the 9 of April.

S.T.E.M Bird Feeders

This is how it worked how      

This term in STEM we have been learning about how to attract birds to our school. Process of learning was to complete the steps of the our design. We had to use quite a few things to get our bird feeder how it is know. The challenges we had to face was to get the right tools, get it the same as the picture/ drawing of our design. I really enjoyed painting and decorating our bird house.  I enjoyed it because when we paint I like to try and avoided the paint splashing on me. I got a few drips on me but my Mum will wash is out.
